The Mountain Perch cabin is close to nearby convenience services such as medical services, and nearby grocery stores.
Although secluded, there is a short drive from the quaint villages of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The local area boasts a number of activities such as the Bent Creek golf course at the foot of the Cobbly Nob resort. Designed by three-time Master's winner Gary Player, the 72 par course is rated as one of the top 50 in the south.
The small village of Pigeon Forge is home to a number of artisan shops. In addition, the village has an outlet mall if you want to cook at home. If you would rather eat out, both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge have a number of fantastic restaurants.
Furthermore, Cobbly Nob is close to many other activities that include hiking, fishing, white-water rafting, skiing and horseback riding. Although beautiful in autumn when the fall colors fill the trees on the mountain sides, the area is arguably at its most beautiful in winter, with deep powder snow and its busy ski community.
All seasons in the Great Smokey Mountains hold an allure. The spring is when Gatlinburg blossoms to life, not just because 95% of the Smokies are covered with wild woods and flowers, but people start to arrive from across the country and further afield. Do not miss the Great Smokey Mountain Wildflower Pilgrimage or the Easter arts and crafts show. In addition, there is an Easter service on top of Mt. Harrison, there is nothing quite like soaking in the crisp spring air from the peaks.
In the summer and autumn season, the hiking is at it's best; the area is busy and full of life. Get out into the wild, looking for numerous bird species, as well as elk and black bear. Trails such as Laurel falls, Chimney tops and Mt. Leconte are picturesque walks that pass stunning cascades and deep pools.
