A State of Tennessee Marriage License can be obtained from any of the three Sevier County Clerk's Marriage License Centers. There is no waiting period, and no blood test is required. The addresses are given below. Two of the Centers are open on Saturdays. See hours of operation below. Please note that hours of operation may vary, especially at holiday times, so call ahead to confirm that the Centers are open.
Both the bride and the groom must apply in person and show a photo ID (valid driver's license or passport). Also, it is recommended that you bring your social security card or other ssn documentation. The bride and groom need to be at least 18 years of age. If either the bride or groom has been married before, please know the month and year that your previous marriage finished. If the bride has had a name change and has not changed her name on her driver's license as well, she will need to show her divorce decree.
The fee for Out-of-State Residents is $38.50, if paid in cash. Please note that this special low rate applies only in Sevier County! The fee for Tennessee Residents is $98.50, if paid in cash. Mastercard and Visa are accepted and a small processing fee will be added. Tennessee Residents may qualify for a discounted rate, if they have had four hours of premarital counseling. Call the Marriage License Center for more information.
